ROBERTO ORTÍZ GIACOMÁN

Roberto Ortiz Giacomán, originally from San Pedro Coahuila, has lived in Monterrey since 1969, where he studied baccalaureate, engineering and film.

Self-taught photographer, he worked as a multimedia producer at Alfa Planetarium since its opening in 1979 to 85, the year in which he became part of the collective La Casa Ediciones and in 1992 he moved into his current studio.

His activity as a professional photographer is divided between commissioned production and personal projects and since 1994 he has ventured into the investigation of local photography and graphic publishing.

Commissioner for the exhibition Monterrey in 400 Photographs- MARCO 1996. Counselor of the Fototeca de Nuevo León since its foundation in 1998.

Co-editor of the three volumes Nuevo León images of our memory. Commissioner for the exhibition and respective publication of Eugenio Espino Barros, Modern Photographer.
He has participated since 1982 in more than a hundred collective exhibitions and ten individual ones.
