ROBERTO ORTIZ GIACOMÁN
Roberto Ortiz Giacomán is originally from San Pedro Coahuila and resides in Monterrey since 1968, where he went to study baccalaureate and engineering, then combined with film and photography studios.
He worked for six years as an audiovisual producer in the Alpha Planetarium from 1979 to 1985. In that year, he established himself as an independent photographer and was for seven years a member of the workshop "La Casa Ediciones". Since 1992 he has settled in his current Galeana studio # 413 in San Pedro Garza García, N. L.
His professional activity is divided between production and photographic research: he makes custom photography and personal projects; since 1994 he has ventured into the editing and research of local photography.
He curated the exhibition "Monterrey in 400 Photographs" presented at MARCO in 1996.
He has been an advisor to the Fototeca de Nuevo León since its foundation in 1998, where he has collaborated as editor of the three volumes of "Nuevo León: Images of our memory" and for the exhibition and respective publication of "Eugenio Espino Barros, Modern Photographer" .
In 2004, he participated in the seminar "Preserving photographs in a digital world", given by Eastman House in the city of Rochester, NY and in 2009, he participated in the seminar on the preservation of digital archives organized by Fundación Televisa and in the workshop "The conservation of art installations through the application of study and documentation protocols" at the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico.
He has participated as a graphic editor of several publications, among which the following stand out:
-The plastic arts in Nuevo Leon, one hundred years of history -2000.

-How a company is forged, FRISA 40 years -2011.
-The metropolitan cathedral of Monterrey -2012.

It is a reliable supplier in terms of reproduction and photographic editing for the following institutions: MARCO Museum, FEMSA Art Collection, CONARTE and Museum of Mexican History, as well as for a group of local artistic producers and for various galleries and art institutions in the country.
As for his personal work, he has participated since 1982 in more than seventy-five collective and six individual exhibitions.
He participated in the collective exhibition "Contemporary Mexican Landscape", which was presented at the Centro Cultural Tijuana, in August 2013.
